Sell your car

Publish your car, deal directly with buyers, and keep the full sale price. Syartijo does not charge commission on private sales.

Listing submission opens with the new platform. The guidance below applies whenever you sell — here or anywhere else.

How selling works

Gather the paperwork

Registration, your ID, and any service receipts. Buyers pay more when records exist.

Clean the car properly

Inside and out, including the boot and engine bay. Presentation changes the first offer more than any description does.

Photograph it in good light

Early morning or late afternoon, plain background, 8–12 shots covering every angle plus the interior and odometer.

Set an honest price

Check what comparable cars are actually listed for, then position yours against them.

Answer questions quickly

Serious buyers move on fast. Replying within a few hours keeps them engaged.

Complete the transfer

Finish the official ownership transfer the same day you take payment.

Pricing: what moves the number

Sellers usually anchor to what they paid or what they still owe. Buyers do not care about either. Price against the market using these factors:

FactorEffect on price
Documented service historyRaises it, and shortens the time to sell
Mileage well below average for the yearRaises it
Accident repair, especially structuralLowers it sharply
Second owner vs fifth ownerFewer owners is worth more
Common colour and specificationSells faster; unusual choices narrow the audience
Due or overdue major serviceBuyers deduct the full cost, then some

A practical approach: find the closest comparable cars currently for sale, note their asking prices, and place yours slightly below the middle of that range if you want a sale within a few weeks. Leave a small margin for negotiation — most buyers expect to move the price, and a listing with no flexibility gets fewer calls.

Writing a listing buyers trust

  • State the facts first: year, model, trim, mileage, gearbox, fuel, and the price.
  • Disclose known faults. A buyer who finds an undisclosed problem during inspection walks away entirely. A buyer who was told in advance usually negotiates instead.
  • Describe recent work — new tyres, timing belt, battery — with dates.
  • Avoid empty phrases. “Excellent condition” means nothing on its own; “new front tyres in March, full service at 90,000 km” means a great deal.

Staying safe during the sale

  • Meet in a public, busy place during daylight.
  • Accompany the buyer on the test drive, and check their licence first.
  • Be cautious with payment: confirm funds have genuinely cleared before releasing the car.
  • Never hand over the vehicle before the ownership transfer is complete.
